- This is the first dropped comment I've run into myself, but I have no way of knowing who else may have run into it here. I also have a hard time with the spam filter. I send an email to delete...
- I took Disqus off all my blogs last week. Comments were regularly disappearing; I'd return to an old post that I know had 20+ comments and suddenly they were all gone. I thought it was my...
- "Read it aloud" helps with tense and flow, but for punctuation it leads to arguments with editors and high school English teachers, like Sr. Theresa. The rules are simple and solid...

1. In one (can be hyphenated!) word, how would you describe your career, culture or identity. E.g., “I am a(n) ________.”
PURPLECAR: techie-girl-writer
2. Do you think this identity has been represented well in art (including fiction, film, poetry)?
PURPLECAR: writers, no. They are always such basket cases. techies are only in sci-fi, so no again.
3. What do you typically do on long trips (plane, train, auto) for entertainment?
PURPLECAR: Read magazines/books, listen to podcasts, do crossword puzzles.
4. What traditional paper & print media, if any, do you read on a regular basis?
PURPLECAR: Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer, Vogue Magazine, Lucky Magazine, Prevention Magazine.
5. What is the last fiction novel or short story you remember reading? When was this?
PURPLECAR: "Snow Crash", on the last few pages right now. Before that it was "A Disorder Peculiar to The Country." Next will be "Neuromancer."
6. What is your preferred genre for fiction and/or non-fiction?
PURPLECAR: mainstream fiction, but I like cyberpunk. Just wish there were more women like me represented in it.
7. Would you rather read a novel or listen to it?
PURPLECAR: Listen. I'm a stay at home mom, and I can listen more often than I can sit down to read.
8. Approximately how many page books do you buy in a year for yourself or other adults?
PURPLECAR: Not many. Maybe 12. I use the library a lot.
9. Please pick up the book nearest to you now. What are the first and last words? What is the title?
PURPLECAR: For, All. Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook.
10. You’ve just been given $300 gift card to Borders right before a 3-week trip to an ‘off the grid’ island. What do you buy?
All of William Gibson's books, Isabel Allende's book and some Lucille Clifton poetry books. And a few Vogue Magazines and some crossword books. Of course, this is probably adding up to more than 300 dollars.
11. What connections, if any, do you see between social media and traditional fiction?
Social media is the new standard of old communication norms. It will be in every new present-day setting in every new novel soon. And how we communicate with each other and the world around us is the core theme of any book. Social media and art (like fiction) are inevitably intertwined because of this.
There ya go, Geo!
And Christine and Lyrica show is still on tap. Gathering footage almost daily. Editing process begins soon, as well as a constant string of new taping opportunities!
